Beacon Looms sells only to retailers under retailer private label or our own BL HOME brand.
I purchased an item in the past that I’d like to replace. Where can I find it?
The home furnishing industry changes items periodically and what may have been purchased may no longer be available.
What are some of the common window styles?
Panel
(sometimes called Rod Pocket or Tailored Panel)
Panels are rectangular in shape with a rod pocket opening at the top and a sewn edge (hem or scalloping) at the bottom.
Tab Top
Has decorative loops (tabs) at the top where the curtain rod is inserted.
Scarf
A long piece of rectangular fabric that is draped over decorative rods or inserted through wall scones.
Valance
Fabric sewn that is wider than it’s length and can be used by itself or over panels. The curtain rod is placed either through the rod pocket or tabs.
Tiers
Has the same criteria as a panel but is shorter in length; usually 24in or 36in. Although primarily used in kitchen or bathrooms they can be used in bedrooms and living rooms and are referred to as “privacy tiers”.
What are some of the common bedding items?
Comforter
A decorative top of bed covering that is filled with primarily polyester and stitched in a distinctive pattern (quilted).
Duvet
Much like a large pillowcase for comforter and a necessity to protect down comforter; the opening, used to insert comforter, can be secured with flaps, buttons or zipper.
Coverlet
Quilted like a comforter but not as thick or bulk and smaller in overall dimension.
DuverletTM
A lightweight quilted coverlet that can be filled with a comforter or used unfilled.
Bed skirt / Dust Ruffle
An attractive fabric covering for the box springs which co-ordinates with the comforter or duvet.
Decorative Pillow / Breakfast (Boudoir) Pillow / Neck Roll
A small stuffed pillow that complements the bed and the shape dictates the name: Decorative are square; Breakfast are rectangular and small and Neck Roll are cylinder shaped.
Shams
Unlike the open end pillowcase, shams are an enclosed decorative covering for standard, queen or king size pillows. Euro shams are for 26in square pillows.
