About Us
Deeply Rooted in the US Textile Trade
Founded 1914 in New York City, Beacon Looms, Inc. has been designing, manufacturing and supplying quality goods to the Home Textile industry for over 90 years. Originally producing trimmings, the company quickly outgrew its Manhattan facilities and moved to Beacon, New York where it incorporated to Beacon Looms, Inc. and extended into the design and manufacturing of curtain and draperies products.
Through World War II, (our camouflage nets received the War Department's "E" for excellence) and into the 1990s, Beacon Looms emerged as the leader in the curtain industry; the sentiment being: if you weren't buying from Beacon, you weren't getting the best.
Surveying the gradual shift of manufacturing overseas, Beacon Looms shifted too and expanded into upscale fashion bedding and curtain items while maintaining strength in the promotional curtain market.
Today, Beacon Looms, Inc. continues to be a leader providing window treatments ranging from OPP (opening price point) to high fashion quality 100% doupioni silk. And our successful luxury bedding line is recognized as one of the best in the industry.
Born of long years and love for this industry, we share with our retail partners our merchandising expertise and our value-driven engineering sense to mutually attain the benefits of our creations.
A Continuous Tradition of Innovation
Max Sadinoff, son of founder Issac Sadinoff, filed over 100 patents related to the design and construction of knitted curtains, in addition to patents for machine adaptation. These patents became the staple of the knitted curtain industry. The first knitted curtain ever produced, anywhere, was introduced by the company in 1928.
Beacon Looms, Inc. introduced consumers to the very first wash-and-drip-dry curtains and draperies under the company's TrulonTM label.
Max's son Sy, currently the Owner, President and CEO, developed use of information systems to help streamline operations and understand retailers' needs. Beacon Looms' team of Home Furnishings professionals analyze market trends, retail operations and competitive positioning to supplement the all-important fashion/value equation.
In 2005 Jonathan Sadinoff, Max's grandson and 4th generation executive, aligned the business yet again around the changing marketplace to completed Beacon Looms' 10-year shift out of manufacturing and establish itself as a successful designer, sourcer and importer of Home Furnishings products.
Today, the innovation tradition continues in both window and bedding. Our InsuldarkTM panels, targeted at today's energy-conscious consumer, are designed to block out light, retain heat yet maintain a supple luxurious feel not available in older "foam-backed" curtains. Our versatile 3-way panel top construction allows customers to get multiple hanging looks in one curtain with no extra cost. And in bedding, the innovated DuverletTM, combination duvet cover and coverlet, was designed to satisfied a void observed by our intuitive staff.
